Animoto In the Classroom

Animoto is a cool website that allows you to upload a bunch of pictures or PowerPoint Slides. It mixes them, creates animations, and then balances the animations in relationship to the beat of music. Here is an example:

I am trying to figure out ideas where this can be used in your classes, but I am having trouble discerning a legitimate reason to do so. A reason besides, 'cause its cool...Any comments are welcome...

Cool! Are there any pre-maid ones?!?
This would be an awesome class project!

That is amazing and would really capture attention if done well like this one. How much time did this one presentation take to put together?

I took about 1/2 an hour to create. Most of the time was spent gathering pictures. What's even easier is using a PowerPoint with each slide saved as a jpeg. You can upload all of these, and bing...Instant action...

Is this newer the faster the flashier version of PowerPoint for the generation of 5 second attention span????????
This would seem to be a more appealing response to reviewing, discovering a new concept, or most importantly applying an old concept to a new application.
Let's give it a whirl!

I am looking into how to set up accounts for teachers/students tomorrow (12/10). I'll mess around with it some more to post some more media examples.
